DT:Premiere | Oscar Mulero - Caronte / Pyramidal Decode - Virgilio [Phyr]

 

Phyr Records is the new label from Italy’s Pyramidal Decode that has featured top artists like Takaaki Itoh, Dimi Angélis, PWCCA, and Oliver Rosemann, since launching in 2024. Now presenting a joint LP release with Oscar Mulero titled ‘Il Poema,’ this follows four albums already in just three years.

Oscar Mulero is known for his standout cyclical sound and running the PoleGroup and Warm Up imprints as well as contributing to influential labels like Kr!z’s Token and P.E.A.R.L.’s Falling Ethics.

For this DT:Premiere we selected “Caronte” that’s heady and twisted modular session. Bursts of frantic percussion combines with a clashing, bleeping symphony of analogue signals and sirens for an intense session with raw tool-like sound.

Pyramidal Decode lists prestigious appearances on labels including Jeff Mills’ Axis, Oscar Mulero’s Warm Up, Bas Mooy’s Mord, and Svreca’s Semantica, among many other significant techno imprints as he continues to explore his trippy, cerbral sound.

For this DT:Premiere we selected “Virgilio” with it’s brooding tension from the throbbing percussion programming. Driving, chopping frequencies and modular accents develop the aesthetic to a wild journey of intensity and contemporary purism.
