There are few clubs in the world with the reputation of Paris stronghold Rex Club. Launched by Laurent Garnier in 1992, it has been a haven for the avid music junkie, and still hosts the best talent available week in, week out.
Roll onto 2015 and they decided to launch the self named Rex Club Music record label that has only three releases to date and includes contributions from D’Julz, Phil Weeks, Fred P, ROD and Steve Bug.
RCM004 is from Techno linchpin and Rex resident Electric Rescue, where as the name suggests focuses on a certain Melancholic Enchantment aesthetic. Each of the originals have their own unique feeling wrapped up inside a tough, gritty and raw shell. Club ready as ever, yet masterfully envisioned.
For this DT:Premiere we selected the solo remix by Marcelus of “Padvo” as he goes down the rabbit hole. A moodier concept, the Singular label head pulls out the metallic bell and makes it the key sound over a spooky drone note. Full of mystery and almost tool like functionality, the subtleties are apparent for the most heady of listeners.
