DT:Premiere | Nima Khak - Sunday Raver [SAND]

SAND is the label project from Stockholm based Nima Khak, an artist who knows the club sound as well as focusing on being creative, oozing quality at every turn. His individual approach has him linked to Parabel, Andre Kronert’s ODD/EVEN, Invite’s Choice and Marco Bailey’s MB Elektronics for example.

The seventh vinyl and digital release titled Sunday Raver contains four original tracks that range from an ambient exploration of “Viken Vid Udden” to the deep and dubby “Mono Rose” and the funky, spaced out hypnosis on “Lissna Till Baba“.

It’s the title track we selected for this DT:Premiere as it begins tough and edgy, before the enchanting lead melody quickly arrives and sets a new mood, appealing no doubt to those that know a certain Sunday feeling. Euphoric and energetic, the soft tones and fanciful free flow of the track take hold, rolling forward with imperfect key stabs, there’s a soul tucked away between the lines…
