CMND CTRL is an American label from rising talent B. Riley and has already welcomed a strong list of artists like Spanish Non Series label boss Psyk, Finland’s Orion, as well as Berlin-based Tim Xavier and Ray Kajioka.
CTRL007 is a powerful combination of production talent, with one original work by Alexi Delano who is an artist with a diverse sonic range from Stockholm. Having released on top labels Richie Hawtin’s Plus 8 and M_nus, Cari Lekebusch’s H-Productions, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, Harthouse, and Primevil, he delivers a deep, Detroit influenced track titled “FOMO Tech“.
The first of two remixes is from Gaetano Parisio aka Gaetek, a techno pioneer whose productions helped shape the late ’90s sound and inspire many even today with his works on his own Conform, Primate, Planet Rhythm, and Zenit. Adding a subtle, looping, tribal feel and rolling bassline, it holds a deep groove and is an instinctive version.
KIMONO is also a Swedish artist making the final contribution with the closing remix, known for his works on The Advent’s Kombination Research, Gary Beck’s BEK Audio, and H-Productions. Focusing on the specific synth note elements from the original, he creates a jackin’ beat with heavy toms and standout claps while gently crafting the deeper pads into the mix for an uplifting finale.
Three varying takes that will each find a fan, the tracks are also distinctively linked and an impeccable example of well-thought-out production skills and techniques.
