Mind Games is a label showing once again why they are one to watch with another plunge into a serious techno EP titled Unsolved Case destined for ravishing club floors with its clear-cut quality.
Italian producer Alessandro Cocco is a Rome native, who took time to learn and study sound design in London. This time in the UK has surely had a positive impact in his productions, perhaps down to having such a haven of legendary clubs such as fabric and Printworks to draw inspiration from.
“Unsolved Case” is a raunchy and energetic work with punchy drums and sweeping textures that wait for no one. Label head Luca Maniaci contributes a remix with a darker and fiercer vibe while also adding some intense modular tones to really show his creative and unique touch. “Unchanged Behaviour” is a thumping groove with a raw style, using raw percussion to create a head down, powerful jam with sci-fi elements that propel it to a far out, hypnotic trip. Fourth is “Unrevealed Secret” which is a rolling and jackin’ tom drum affair bursting with fun and Plastikman style rattles, while high-pitched accents are the perfect finishing touch to the experience. The fifth and final track is “Until Tomorrow” with an instant bleeping hook as the warbling bass provides a brooding underbelly of tension. The later expansion of the hook throws this one into a new dimension of drama and organic progression that has dance floor weapon written all over it.
Containing five outstanding DJ tools of the highest standard, we are told it has picked up support from Luke Slater / Planetary Assault Systems, DVS1, Drumcell and Arnaud Le Texier amongst many others.
