DT:Premiere | Splice - Reflective [Arsenik]

Arsenik is a Swedish based outfit that are fully independent, making full use of Bandcamp and being found in select stores such as the legendary Hardwax in Berlin. In their first few years of running they have included music from Dold, Kuf, Sleeparchive, Savas Pascalidis amongst others.

The twelfth EP in the catalogue welcomes Elias Landberg aka Splice, who to many an avid techno fan is also better known as the prominent Skudge. As Splice, he launched the moniker in 2011 with a release on Färden Records, but has recently brought it back following a superb pack on Psyk’s Non Series.

For this DT:Premiere we selected the title track “Reflective” that has a funky flow and smooth, analogue sound. Less is more we think here, where a focus on sound progression and mood comes up trumps, and this timeless wonder delivers the good, with just enough jacking thump to give it an effective jolt of energy.
