Andres Gil

Andres Gil was born in Medellin - Colombia, at just 14, he began his life as an artist, listening to music from Disco, Pop and Flash Dance of the ’80s and late ’90s. Later clicking on the turntables lent by his father and some vinyl, playing artists like Michael Jackson, Eurythmics, Soft Cell, Bananarama, Culture Club, Stacy Q, Madonna, Sabrina Salerno, Opus, Michael Sembello, Donna Summer among others.

He soon began taking experience, honing his DJ technique, and getting to know various electronic genres, including Drum & Bass, House, Electro House, Trance and Techno. In 2006 he started to play music in public around the local city of Medillín, and also giving him the opportunity to play in the most prestigious clubs and sharing cabins with the best local DJs. He has also shared the stage with international DJs such as: Francisco Allendes aka Monomachine, Joseph Capriati, Alan Fitzpatrick, Matador (IE), Heartthrob, Tony Rohr, Alex Kenji, Marshall, Camea, Luigi Madonna, Speedy J, Martinez, Paul Ritch, Adam Beyer, The Advent, Cari Lekebusch, Secret Cinema, Pan-Pot, and Markantonio among others.

His main influences are based on techno and minimal, dark textures, industrial settings and macabre, working for major labels like: Phobiq [Sasha Carassi], Driving Forces Recordings [Sutter Cane], Brood Audio [Erphun] Frakture Audio [Subfractal ] Naked Lunch [A. Paul], Respekt [Spektre], Akoom Records [M.I.D.I.], Organism! [Yan Stricker] and many more.

He currently owns his own record label launched in mid-year 2010 which is called Refluxed Records.
