Grown up in the heydays of techno, Mario Castillo quickly gained notoriety for his intense sets and fine skills behind the decks. Owning an after club and managing underground parties asserted his maturity, giving shape to a formed independence that led him to start with music production and open his own vinyl label Soul Notes in 2011.
While the imprint achieved great yield in the house club scene, a natural mutation arised towards his roots and the genres of techno. Seeing the creation of his new vinyl outfit Stale, he is now immersed with his own recordings and a paired functionality, crafting a fresh artistic range, home to techno and experimental works by Irazu, Deapmash, I-Real and more, and at once extending praise to respected artists with remixes by the likes of Regis, Lag, Pessimist or Acronym.
Few artists have a catalogue as diverse as Kastil, since origin, a gradual change has taken place, all the time pushed forward by a knowledge hunger and impulsivity to master his sound artistry. In this change, a surge of dedication was founded to drive boundaries to new territories in 2016, giving shape to an improvised live set with modular synths that forced him into a unique mastery of musical instruments and his own sound, raising expectation with each show.
The acclaimed debut album as No Spiritual Surrender with J.C., and a rising, solid reputation of has seen solo releases played by DVS1, Adam Beyer, Marcel Dettmann, DJ Pete, Cosmin TRG, Dax J, Matrixxman and Truss, to name a few. He is also attaining a place in the international club scene with recent gigs at renowned techno clubs like Tresor or Elysia, and strongly setting up for another successful year ahead.
