Q&A with Gonzalo MD

> 01. What a crazy exclusive mix you’ve crafted for us, what was your aim and thought process in putting it together?
Thank you very much. I always like to go out with some of my new unreleased tracks. I think it’s an ideal moment to try and test how they develop within a set. I like to always have fresh and new music, aiming to generate different nuances: sometimes more hypnotic moments, moments with more groove, and more introspective moments, but always maintaining the groove.

> 02. What is one of your favourite tunes that you must take with you when DJing?
It’s really difficult to choose just one, but I’ll go with Invexis “Mysterious Existence” [Lifeform] (2004). I think it defines what I see as something purely techno.

> 03. How do you find inspiration and stay active with music production?
I always try to test new tools and I never stop learning. On the other hand, it’s always great to share information with students and colleagues. I also take breaks between production sessions to avoid fatigue and be able to have longer working days. When none of that works, I turn on my machines and revisit old projects or start something new from scratch.

> 04. Which tools do you consider essential in your studio??
If I had to choose just one essential piece, it would be my Analog Rytm MK1. It already has some years on it, but that’s where my new projects always begin.

> 05. What tips and advice can you share to any producers on shaping their own sound?
Mainly that they keep learning and training, share knowledge with producers and colleagues, and most importantly enjoy the journey. Have fun, share moments, stay curious, and take risks.
