White Owl is a Brooklyn-based vinyl and digital imprint devoted to live, machine-led techno, drawing from the deeper corners of the city’s underground. Its catalogue leans into raw hardware expression, with artists like TWR72 and Concrete Husband shaping a sound that feels both immediate and unfiltered. At the centre of the label is co-founder Conor Krane, who released his 2024 EP It Melts off My Bones to rapturous regard, and is continuing to explore a darker, more abstract sonic language with his latest effort Bared Nerves, that also features the EvilGroove head honcho Lindsey Herbert, and the other half of White Owl, Piner. For this Death Techno special mix series session, Conor Krane steps into a live, one-take recording with modular synths and Elektron machines pushed to their limits. What unfolds is a descent into dense, pressurised sound: fractured atmospheres, overdriven textures, and heavy, unrelenting drums. Built from fragments of club sets and late-night studio experiments, the mix moves through tension and release without resolution. It’s an immersive, physical experience where rhythm and noise blur into something raw, unstable, and deeply hypnotic.
