The UK based Techno label Silent Storm sees the return of Italian D.Sabotage with his second contribution called Gargantua EP. It’s an energetic pack with two originals and one remix by Mexican Fixon who heads up Vector Functions who also has releases on Pfirter’s MindTrip and Sasha Carassi’s Phobiq plus many more.
Starting with the title track and at 130 bpm there is nowhere to run, instantly getting hooked by a hypnotic pad and driving lows, this track goes though some groovy places. It shows exactly the labels beliefs and their pursuit of good music.
Fixon‘s remix of “Gargantua” is more an offbeat explosion. A dusty and mysterious texture prevails on all layers, making this an excellent second choice of the title track. His approach gives an even more dark and powerful feel.
Submerged in synthetic fluid and percussive melodies “Gregna” is the second original. With a constant vibration and solid groove, it has like the title track, a particularly effective sense of stereo panning. It will challenge your emotions along the ride too.
The EP has a distinct vinyl sound, tough and raw. The atmospheric style make it hard not to feel an instant connection also. Overall some quality, club heavy tracks from Silent Storm and here’s to more of the same.
