DT:Premiere | Manuel Di Martino & MUTE8 - Yugen (Luigi Tozzi Slow Motion Mix) [Ribbon LTD]

Ribbon LTD is the limited vinyl off shoot from Italian label head Manuel Di Martino who appears for just the second outing alongside Gigi Galli and Dave Manuel aka MUTE8. The pair combine for the new EP titled Yugen complete with remixes by Rome’s rising star Luigi Tozzi and Belgium’s PTTRNRCRRNT following an excellent release from the highly influential Ken Ishii in 2020.

Luigi Tozzi is an artist who lets his music do the talking, having released on labels such as Psyk’s Non Series, Abstract Division’s Dynamic Reflection, Sweden’s Hypnus Records and collaborating with masters such as Claudio PRC and Dino Sabatini.

For this DT:Premiere we selected his remix of “Yugen” which really lives by its slow-mo name and transforms its groove. Manifesting an atmospheric experience within a stripped back, metallic vessel of jerking kicks and shimmering, modular bleeps, this dub techno delight shows unrivalled restraint yet retains a fierce purpose.
