New York’s DJ Spider is involved in many forms of electronic music production and also records under the names, Spider Bites, Kuru, Alarma!, Destination Void, Bomb Site and Mindscraper.
DJ Spider is one of New York’s hardest working DJs as well as one of its most distinctive producers, a longtime veteran of many scenes whose roots in noise, old school deep house, hardcore punk, and techno show through clearly in his style both on the decks and in the studio.
At this point deserving of OG status, Spider was at the forefront of the reemergence of New York’s house and techno scene in 2008 and has been working hard ever since, making several appearances in Berghain, Freerotation, Concrete, and many of the world’s most famous locations and earning releases on prestigious labels like The Trilogy Tapes, Killekill, Rekids, and many others.
His own Plan B Recordings and Sublevel Sounds labels quickly established themselves as an outlet for New York’s most outward-bound house and techno, releasing material from himself, label co-head Dakini9, the upcoming Phil Moffa, and others.
