01. Maria Goetz & Virulent - A Final Solitaire
First up is a track from Chicago (USA) based Maria Goetz with releases on Slap Jaxx, Illegal Alien and Naked Lunch. Teaming up on a collaboration with now North Carolina based Virulent (Kevin Farabaugh). Deep and pulsating with a dark tension, the track is unrelenting with rigid claps and drops that hit harder than a face first fall off a ten foot cliff. Holding nothing back this track is both chic and laced for the dancefloor.
02. Szeb - 290D
Fresh off the back of releases on Subsist Records, Re:Axis’ Monocline and soon Illegal Alien, Sebastian Contreras aka Szeb makes his second appearance for DEAD CERT. with another quality offering. Starting with a heavy kick drum that booms like a battle cry or call to arms, “290 D” takes no prisoners. Contrasting with the pounding style, the fragile melody provides an eerie atmosphere that ripples across the track to create a captivating mix of textures and allure.
03. Drop-E - Relational Inactivity
Andalucia (Spain) is the home of Pedro Martíns aka Drop-E who makes a DEAD CERT. debut with previous releases on Labrynth and Intellighenzia Electronica for example. The Instantly hypnotic “Relational Inactivity” wriggles and twists with acid fuelled intensity, which creates a whirling tapestry of sound. Moving like a rollercoaster, the track feels almost out of control, but this is a ride so thrilling you will never want to get off!
04. Spectralband - Woozy
Warren “Spectralband” is the owner of London (UK) based Seance Radio and it’s new vinyl and digital label project that has featured music by Edit Select and Subjected so far. Coming from The Clairvoyants trio that were linked to Rinse FM, he makes an appearance with a dubby and stripped back track called “Woozy.” It’s muffled and disorientating vocals set a mysterious tone which is offset by a sense of building suspense. Broken rhythms and a creepy atmosphere make this a feisty DJ weapon that dropped at the right time can easily make tremors of devastation.
