Los Angeles born and based, Vangelis and Vidal Vargas have performed worldwide from North America to Europe to Japan. Through their connection with Drumcell they developed the label, production group and music collective Droid Behavior. Raíz have released affective music on labels including Electric Deluxe, Historia Y Violencia and their home base Droid Recordings.

As performers, Raíz fully harness the capabilities of Traktor, Ableton, and Maschine technology to create a thick blend of Detroit-influenced techno and hard, gritty house. They take cues from dynamic performers such as Claude Young, Ben Sims, and The Advent to showcase their musical expression with a delicate balance of mixing board acrobatics and symbiotic intuition.

Years of production experience inform their Live PA / Digital DJ hybrid approach, which uses each track’s core essentials to form a narrative arch for every unique set. Their releases follow suit, taking only key elements from each rhythmic style to shape elegant and deep and pumping trax that capture their diverse influences.
