Established in 2015, Berlin based Techno label Dreiklang has quickly gained a solid following, putting their trust in the distinctive triangular concept with each release presenting three contrasting takes on the same source material from different producers.
The project runs as vinyl only and the artist for the second release DREIKLANG002 is non other than the Scottish mainstay Tony Scott, best known as Edit Select.
Edit Select is well known for his thorough and dedicated style, releasing top quality tracks on labels like Affin, CLR, PoleGroup and Soma, including of course his own label Edit Select.
The title track “Loop Continue” starts with a dusky loop from the beginning that is slowly overcome by wonderful pads and continues the reverberant sounds in a very hypnotic and throbbing Techno aesthetic.
First of the reinterpretations comes from Italian Claudio PRC who is also one half of The Gods Planet label. He delivers a subtle driving bass with a clean style accompanied with chords from time to time. Easing the groove and expanding the senses, it’s a superb rework from the already awesome original.
The also Italian producer and Outis Music boss Dino Sabatini closes the release in style. Accentuating the triangular concept with different takes, his approach sustains a broken beat piece with beautiful, swirling and soothing textures.
Dreiklang’s focus delivering great material with a strict concept is succeeding. After this huge second EP, I can’t wait to hear the next execution of audio art.
