Putting together great material is something Planet Rhythm is well known for and the Netherlands based owner Glenn Wilson just delivered what is the fifth various artists release of the year titled Deviance Is Bliss. The latest sampler comes with massive tunes from four of the names that have been circulating through the label’s discography in recent times. In just the packages put out this year you will find tracks from guys like Niereich, TWR72, Yan Cook, Petter B, Samuli Kemppi and Developer to name but a few.

Shooting first we have Self Reflektion label owner Stranger with a driving and energetic track called “Thinner.” A very short looped synth creates a percussive vibe, whilst multiple chopped hats increase the stroboscopic effect. A low section on and off arrangement make this a very intense ride that doesn’t let up.

Departed” comes right after from the mind of recent DTMIX125 guest Hans Bouffmyhre. Who makes a distorted bass line the protagonist of his tune. Slowly taking hits from the delay, it gets accompanied by vibrating pads that carry the vibe to outer space.

London based Jamie Haus brings it back to the ground with “Intrude.” A thick and vibrating affair of bouncing lows and dusty hats continue through the whole track. The short repetition of a high pitched synth adds a hypnotic feel to this stripped back but very powerful work.

The title track is in charge of closing this EP off. EarToGround head Gareth Wild takes it up a notch with 132 BPM of classic Techno sounds. A tight kick and sub flutters combined with lashings of gothic rave melodies give this a dark sound that will fire up many dancefloors.

Another great example of the Planet Rhythm tradition, four solid cuts with creativity and variety for any situation.
