Barcelona’s Arketip Discs has previously featured music by Reeko, Truncate, Temudo and ORBE, and their newest EP titled La Mola, is a thrilling set featuring a line-up of diverse techno talents. Spearheading the release is label co-founder Makuto, whose track “Sfera” sets the stage with its hypnotic, modular accents and haunting tones that mark a bold statement of Arketip’s sonic vision.
A.Morgan is a Manchester native who brings “Vogue One” to the table, a stripped-back groove fest showcasing his skills for complex soundscapes and catchy percussion rhythms. His back catalogue includes distinguished labels like Jay Clarke’s Blackaxon and Joton’s Newrhythmic and it’s clear to hear his continued excellence.
Portuguese luminary VIL of HAYES and Ben Klock’s Klockworks, adds depth with “The Reaction” that blends shuffling, analogue beats and deep chords to create an atmospheric journey through a warm, swirling and science fiction style soundscape.
Rounding off the EP is a stellar remix of “The Reaction” by Spanish heavyweight Psyk. The Non Series boss has also released on Tresor and Luke Slater’s Mote Evolver, and here he reimagines and elevates the original’s elements into a mesmerising tapestry of electrical textures and pulsating bass rhythms.
Having garnered DJ support from many scene leaders such as Marcel Dettmann, Tommy Four Seven, Josh Wink, Florian Meindl, UVB, Truncate, Len Faki, The Advent, DVS1, Pfirter, Rødhåd and Charlotte de Witte, La Mola is a spectacular mix of outstanding works with a contemporary take on techno and its endless possibilities in the modern era.
