From the first wave of Spanish DJs emerged Bernardo Hangar, one of the first genuinely underground techno artists at a time when Spain was literally in the “medieval ages” in what electronic music is concerned.
He ends up subjugating his style and making him one of the most avant-garde and risky artists in southern Europe. It was normal, at that time, to see him in the most important festivals in Spain: Espárrago Rock, Sónar, Festimad, FIB, RC 01, Electrosplash … also beyond borders, in countries such as France or Germany. After a long period of reflection and hard production work, he decided to create his own label DarkForest, where he looks for new sound landscapes committed to the darker side of nature, launching its first EP “Starting Point” in September 2016.
Bernardo also creates productions for different labels such as SUB tl, Underdub, Logical Methods and the continuation of many more references on his own label.
Detailed, blunt and dark, the music of Bernardo Hangar has not lost a bit of the strength from when he began, but today it seems just as necessary as it was then.
