Joton is at it once again, releasing more superb Techno, this time on FORMAT in Amsterdam, ran by the excellent Juan Sanchez.
“Mental Blank” has a bouncing beat with gritty stabs, which are layered with chords and cool effects creating a distinct and exciting energy. A touch of attitude can be felt through the mix that adds an underlying power and drive to the well formed picture.
The second original titled “Cosmic Explosion” is an altogether different beast. A bass heavy throbbing bass line is accompanied by twitchy hats and wonky groans. Moody and atmospheric, it conveys an odd and machine like presence really bringing this too life.
Supplying the only remix here is ROD who’s music can be found on Ben Klock’s Klockworks, Len Faki’s Figure to Chris Liebing’s CLR. Energy oozes from every pore with his signature dancefloor sound, a fearless approach as ever, that works every time.
FORMAT are a young and essential label that have consistently delivered with each release and show no signs of letting up from these high quality packages.
