Observer is a secretive artist project from Minnesota, USA. An established profile has seen some substantial early outings on the likes of Andre Kronert’s ODD/EVEN and Dustin Zahn’s Enemy Records.
Launching his new imprint Radix Verum, with a focus on uncompromising Techno with elements of House, Principium is a fresh and welcomed addition to an ever active scene.
The title track uses a looping, eerie melody to create energy and drive, with a steady flow, it’s the bursts of intensity that really bring it to life. “March The Drums” has a delayed metallic sound as the main hook that’s straight to the point and for hypnotising heads in the club with naughty nuances. “Deep Field” is more progressive and spaced out, adding to the overall sound of the release. Engaging and serious, it’s a great alternative to get lost in. “Your Ghost” works a stuttering, almost jacking beat laced with snare licks and airy vocals over a droning edgy synth that can be a secret weapon for a style switch and a head turner.
When things are done well it’s always appreciated and finds the right audience. There’s no doubt Observer starts as he means to go on.
