France’s Hemissi unveils his latest exploration titled Reminder of Life that is distinguished by its unique soundscapes and catchy rhythms, and displaying his inventiveness in the underground techno scene.
Gaining recognition in the industry for his exceptional releases on high-calibre labels like Bas Mooy’s Mord, Jeff Mills’ Axis, Slam’s Soma, and Ben Sims’ Symbolism, Hemissi has now joined the vinyl haven Concrete Records from Italy who have featured artists like Samuli Kemppi, Svreca and Cassegrain.
“Reminder” is the EP’s first track, and its eccentric tones and tribal rhythms provide the ideal preparation for the sensory journey that lies ahead. “Thunder Slap” is similar, bringing in a more underground atmosphere along with disoriented suspense.
As the EP progresses, tracks like “Screw” and “Back Fire” transport listeners to an exotic realm, where otherworldly bleeps and atmospheric textures reign supreme. “Ostralopitek” steps into an avenue of strange strings as its lead, swarmed by shining elements and depth, where “Virtues” further showcases Hemissi’s skilled touch, transporting into a cyclical world of hypnosis to captivate the senses.
In essence, this EP provides eclectic sounds and infectious rhythms, and this EP is sure to leave a lasting impression on dance floors and quality techno lovers. Garnering support from legends such as Dave Clarke, Marcel Dettmann, James Ruskin, Laurent Garnier, Marco Bailey, The Advent and Luke Slater, to name only a few, we also wholeheartedly approve it’s one to add to your collection.
