London based Volte-Face has quickly picked up an esteemed following. His BleeD label project started life only a few months ago and it’s already making the right waves, having also featured his collaboration alias Rote, a duo with the highly regarded Daniel Avery.
“Ill Fêted” gets the ball rolling with a bouncing bottom end and hooky stabs surrounded by spacey atmospherics that create a wonderful mood.
A slightly more driving style, “The Power of Christ Compels You” delivers a funky groove with a dancefloor energy and soulful captivation.
Stripped back and with a heads down presence, “Chain of Command” is given life by some beautiful chords swaying through the mix that enchant and feel really organic.
New York’s DJ Spider makes an appearance supplying a remix of a track not actually featured in the original lineup. He introduces his signature roughness, increasing the tempo to 133 BPM, whilst morphed, demonic vocals lash around and percolate an aggressiveness.
All Grown Up consists of some swanky and savvy productions that really are top of the class, made with care and sound elegantly full.
